Cornwall’s Got Talent
We will be taking part in Cornwall’s Got Talent at the Killacourt (above Blue Reef Aquarium) in Newquay.
The heats are on Friday 28th August and the teams will be dancing at the times listed below.
1.30-2.30pm X-treme and Dream Team
4-5pm Dyna-mites and Rock Steady
5-5.30pm Tomassi’s Theatre School (singing Circle of Life)
9-9.30pm Ulti-m8 (finishing the show because you’re so good!)
The Dance Teams and Rock Skool have also been asked to perform on the Saturday in a Showcase at 3pm.
The Semi finals and finals will be held on Monday 31st August.
Please tell all you friends the arrangements, and let me know if you can’t make it.

We’re in the Final
The Danceworx teams wowed the judges and the audience last night (2nd August) at Newquay’s Got Talent and made it through the final next week.
All the dancers need to be dropped at the British Legion in Newquay at 6.45pm. Non competitors ie. mums and dads, will not be allowed in until 7.30pm at the earliest. The competition starts at 8pm and i do not expect it to finish until 10.30pm at the earliest, so i advise the younger members to have a rest during the day.
All the team members that stayed to hear the result were over the moon and can’t wait for next weeks final.
Events in summer holidays
Newquay’s Got Talent
We want to enter Danceworx and Tomassi’s in the Newquay’s Got talent Contest held at the British Legion Club, Trevenna Terrace, Newquay TR7 1LD.
Tomassi’s students will perform the Circle of Life, and Luke, Kieran and Ashlyn with perform Hakuuna Matata on Sunday 26th July. The kids need to be there at 6pm and the show starts at 7pm. All parents, siblings and friends are welcome to come along, it can be a good fun evening and I’m sure the kids will welcome the support
The Danceworx teams will perform on Sunday 2nd August. Same details as above.
The best acts will be brought back to perform in the final which will be on 9th August at the same times as above.
Cornwall’s Got Talent
This is to be held on Killacourt (above Blue Reef Aquarium) in Newquay on Monday 31st August (bank holiday Monday). The heats will be held in the afternoon and the final in the evening. This will be for Tomassi’s and Danceworx again.
I feel that these kids look and sound so great that they need a wider audience. I hope you are all able to attend these community events, I’m looking forward to the kids receiving the accolades they rightly deserve.

Team performances in July 2009
Wednesday 1st July 6.45pm St Merryn School PL28 8NP.
We need to be at the school for 6.45pm ready to perform at 7pm. Parking may be an issue so I suggest you car share where possible. You can park at the Parish Hall or at the pub which I think is called the Farmers. Alternatively park sensibly in the surrounding streets.
It seems to be a well organised and fun event, food is available so you can always turn up early and make a night of it. Doors open at 6pm.
Wednesday 15th and Thursday 16th July Newquay Tretherras School
We have been asked to take part in their end of year dance show. It starts at 7pm and should be finished by 9.30pm. Parents are welcome to stay and watch but I need to know numbers of spectators.
Wednesday - Dyna-mites (they will dance in the first half so you can take them early to bed if necessary)

Good luck at Royal Cornwall Show
Hi there all!
Hope everything is going well and you’re not missing me too much.
Just wanted to drop you a line to wish you all the best of luck next week with your performances at the the Cubert Fun Run and the Royal Cornwall Show.
If you want to pop along and see some of the best dancers in Cornwall performing some fabulous routines they will be on the Cornwall County Council main stage on Saturday at 12.30pm and 3pm.
So Break A Leg – and by the way – Mickey and Minnie send their love!

2nd June
Fun Run, Cubert School, Chynowen Lane, Cubert TR9 5HE
Meet by the rear school field (near tennis courts) at 5.15pm.
They will be dancing at 5.30 and 6.30
6th June
Royal Cornwall Show, Show Ground Wadebridge
Children will be allowed free entrance, their names/tickets will be on ticket gate at main entrance.
They are performing on the permanent stage which is located next to the main pavillion. It is a Cornwall Counil Stage and must meet here by 12pm at the latest. Maps will be available at the entrance.
They will be dancing at 12.30 and 3pm

Our website should finally be up and running soon but in the meantime you can keep up to date with all the important danceworx news by visiting our Blog; http://danceworxdancefactory.wordpress.com/
We will be posting class venue and date changes on here as well as information on medal test dates, competition dates and performance dates and venues for our fantastic teams. You will also find the link to the photo gallery to view the pictures from the competiton. It’s never easy taking action shots but Karl has done a fantastic job. Make sure you allow enough time, there are 527 to look at, but not 1 of me you’ll be pleased to know!
In the meantime, and for the technophobes out there, this letter contains some important information about forth coming events and venue changes so please read carefully and mark the dates on your calendars.
Venue Change on Friday 15th May
On this date only the classes will be held at St Michaels Church hall, next to St Michaels Church , on St Michaels Road, Newquay.
No Dancing on Thursday 4th June
Cancelled due to hall being used as Polling Station for Elections.
Wiltshire Competition Sunday 21st June
Tickets cost £9 each. They must be purchased by 5th June at the very latest. Please put you ticket order in an envelope with the correct money or cheque made payable to danceworx and the name of dancer, how many tickets you require and amount enclosed written on the front of the envelope.
If you wish to go on the coach you must contact Tracy on 07779263897 as soon as possible as seats will go fast. The total cost of coach and entry to the competition will be £27.25
Extra Practice Lesson for Wiltshire
I will run extra lessons again to practice for the Wiltshire competition for those interested.
I will definately run them on 13th June and depending on interest the 20th but i know some of you will be travelling up that afternoon so please let me know if want them on this date. They sessions will be 3-5pm.
If you would like private lessons talk to me to arrange a time, there will be limited availability, and they cost £15 per half hour (not per person).
The Dress Code at Wiltshire is much stricter don’t forget to check what you are allowed to wear before you buy and order your items from me in plenty of time.
Medal Test Sunday 12th July
Letters will be given out on 11th and 12th June and must be returned preferably by 19th June but definitely by 26th June. Children that compete at Wiltshire must take a rock and roll medal, if they took a disco medal in November it is optional this time. All other dancers will take a disco medal.

2nd June – cubert fun run, cubert school – 5.30pm and 6.30pm
6th June – royal cornwall show 12.30 and 3pm (free entry for kids)
14th June – CLIC Sargent Car Tour send off – Hendra Holiday Park 9-10.30 am
1st July – St Merryn School 4.20pm

I have been given the wrong information and we can use the WI hall this Thursday.
As i have already cancelled the Adults i thought it a good opportunity to have a double lesson for the 6.30 class to get you ready for your medals. This is also handy because we definitely cannot have the hall on the 4th June so it will make up for that missed one.
can you pass this information on to all your class mates.
